Meet our cats
All of them have their own unique personality, and rehoming requirements. Please take time to read their stories and we hope you'll both find the perfect match.
If you would like to proceed with rehoming one of our cats please book an appointment, and then complete our rehoming application form.
Unfortunately we cannot process applications that are incomplete, and applications / appointments from outside 1 hours drive from the sanctuary will not be considered.
In addition, we will not rehome an adult cat into a household with an existing adult cat present. We will also not rehome a single kitten into a household without another cat present as, to meet welfare standards, kittens need vital social interaction. For full details read our Rehoming Rules
A quick visual reference guide to our cats' preferences and personalities.

As a rehomer you will be responsible for ensuring your kitten receives their second vaccination and is neutered.
If you would like any help or support arranging any of these future appointments, please do let us know as we will be happy to assist.

Kara

Age: 1 Year old
Breed: Black & white Domestic Shorthair
This 1-year-old black and white beauty was found as a stray with three kittens, sheltering in someone's garage while keeping her little family safe. Scared but good-natured beneath her fear, Kara is barely more than a kitten herself. She'll be available for rehoming once her kittens are weaned and she's been spayed. Needs patient, experienced owners in a calm home suited to indoor living or quiet areas.

Comfortable with young children and suited to family life. They can be rehomed together or separately.
Alfie

Age: 9 years
Breed: Tabby and white domestic shorthair
This beautiful 9-year-old tabby and white boy was found in a back garden, abandoned or lost after his senior years should have been spent in comfort. Genuinely friendly and affectionate, Alfie is a true lap cat who will happily settle on your knee for cuddles and fuss. Despite his abandonment, he's maintained his gentle, trusting nature and is ready for the peaceful, loving retirement he deserves. Perfect for someone seeking a devoted senior companion.
Betsy & Penny

Age: 8 Years & 7 years old
Breed: Both Tortie Domestic Shorthairs
Betsy and Penny's story spans nearly eight years of unwavering companionship. This tortoiseshell mother (8 years) and daughter (7 years 3 months) have been inseparable since leaving Woodlands as a pair, spending their years with an elderly lady until her declining health made continued care impossible. They absolutely must stay together and are ready to bring quiet devotion to their next loving family.
Clive

Age: 5 year old
Breed: Ginger domestic short hair
This handsome 5-year-old ginger boy arrived as a stray with no history known. Neutered on admission and receiving full vet check, vaccinations, worming, and microchipping before rehoming. At the perfect age with many years ahead, Clive's personality and preferences are still being discovered. He needs a patient family, with children who are over 12 years old willing to give him time to settle and reveal his true character. We also think he would benefit from lots of outdoor space. His past may be a mystery, but his future can be filled with love and stability.

Breed: Tabby Tortie Domestic Shorthair
This 10-year-old tabby tortoiseshell lived with one owner since 16 weeks old and is heartbroken by their ill health. Loves play and outdoor access, was deeply devoted to her previous owner. Needs single person who understands complex cats, respects boundaries, and seeks a challenging but rewarding relationship. Not for everyone - but for the right person, she's everything.

Q Kittens

Age: 9 weeks old
Breed: Both Tabby Domestic Short hair
These two 6-week-old tabby sisters - Q Kitten 1 with her ginger-tinted face and Q Kitten 2 with her paler grey-brown colouring - were rescued by a compassionate lady who answered a Facebook "free kittens" advert and realized how dangerously young they were. Found as strays without their mum, these sisters have only had each other. Bonded and deeply dependent on one another, they will be rehomed together & because they are kittens, they could also go to a home with an existing adult cat. Currently in foster care - not ready until towards the end of June but reservations accepted now. Phone to enquire - they're with a fosterer so online forms aren't available.
Must be adopted together - bonded pair. Please ring to enquire about these two: 01704 823293

Rehoming Animals Since 2005
At Woodlands Animal Sanctuary we understand that all our animals’ health and well-being is paramount. We ensure that all our cats and kittens receive the highest standards of care and medical treatment possible before being rehomed. This includes:
- Veterinary Checks
- Worming Treatment
- Microchipping
All of our cats and kittens leave Woodlands registered to the Sanctuary to ensure they can be re-united with their family. - Tests for Feline Aids and Leukemia where necessary
- Spayed/Neutered
All cats over 6 months old are spayed/neutered and kittens from 9 weeks to 6 months come with a money off voucher for Ribble vets and Parker and Crowther * - Vaccinations
All of our cats receive at least their first vaccination before leaving Woodlands. Any cat who has not yet received their second vaccination and/or neuter, can get a discounted rate at either Ribble Vets or any Parker and Crowther practise. *
*Proof of adoption from Woodlands Animal Sanctuary will be required when claiming the discount vouchers.
This care incurs costs of over £400 per cat to Woodlands Animal Sanctuary and to help us recoup some of these costs we charge a rehoming fee of £95 for a single cat and £180 for a pair.
Rehoming Rules
We won't home single kittens without another cat present. Rehoming a single kitte doesn't meet welfare standards as it will have no social interaction with other cats. This means that if you already have an adult you can have one kitten. If you don't have an adult cat, you can take an established adult cat or two kittens.
We ensure that no cat or kitten is released to its new home until 48 hours after its vaccination.
If there are other pets in the household i.e. dogs, we will normally recommend a kitten unless we have an adult cat who is used to living with dogs. Dogs are able to come to the Sanctuary to be introduced to the cat.
All existing cats in any household must be neutered.
All cats and kittens that leave Woodlands Animal Sanctuary must leave with the food and litter that they are currently using here, this can be purchased from our onsite shop.
