Meet our cats
All of them have their own unique personality, and rehoming requirements. Please take time to read their stories and we hope you'll both find the perfect match.
If you would like to proceed with rehoming one of our cats please complete our rehoming application form.
Unfortunately we cannot process applications that are incomplete, and applications / appointments from outside 1 hours drive from the sanctuary will not be considered.
In addition, we will not rehome an adult cat into a household with an existing adult cat present. We will also not rehome a single kitten into a household without another cat present as, to meet welfare standards, kittens need vital social interaction. For full details read our Rehoming Rules
A quick visual reference guide to our cats' preferences and personalities.

All of our kittens are usually ready for their forever loving homes from 9 weeks of age. They will have had a full vet check, their first vaccination, be microchipped, up to date with worming treatments & come with 4 weeks insurance with Pet Plan.
As a rehomer you will be responsible for ensuring your kitten receives their second vaccination and is neutered.
If you would like any help or support arranging any of these future appointments, please do let us know as we will be happy to assist.

Tabella

Age: 10 years
Breed: Tabby Tortie Domestic Shorthair
This 10-year-old tabby tortoiseshell lived with one owner since 16 weeks old and is heartbroken by their ill health. "Spicy" and strong-willed, Tabella gets overstimulated quickly and bites, making her unsuitable for children. Doesn't get on with cats or dogs - needs pet-free, adults-only home. Loves play and outdoor access, was deeply devoted to her previous owner. Needs single person who understands complex cats, respects boundaries, and seeks a challenging but rewarding relationship. Not for everyone - but for the right person, she's everything.
Requires experienced owner - adults only, no other pets, outdoor access essential

Dennis

Age: 7 years & 3 months old
Breed: Black Domestic semi long hair
This beautiful 7-year-3-month-old black long-haired boy was rescued after a collar became catastrophically stuck around his front leg, cutting deeply into his chest and causing severe injury. Living as a stray for 5+ years with this excruciating wound, Dennis was rescued by a kind gentleman on 2nd May 2026. Through the dedication of our vet Alison and free laser treatment from Ribble Vets, his wound has healed beautifully in weeks rather than months. Now allowing gentle stroking and showing remarkable progress, Dennis needs a quiet, dog-free, child-free home with a prolonged indoor settling period. Once confident, he'll benefit from safe outdoor access. A brave survivor ready to reclaim his life.
Ready for a quiet, permanent home where he can finally heal and thrive
Minnie (Reserved)

Excellent with children 6 years and older, comfortable with other cats, she's ideal for indoor living away from busy roads. Important: She did not get along with a dog, so needs a dog-free home. Ready to become a super family pet with the right permanent home.

Clive

Age: 5 year old
Breed: Ginger domestic short hair
This handsome 5-year-old ginger boy arrived as a stray with no history known. Neutered on admission and receiving full vet check, vaccinations, worming, and microchipping before rehoming. At the perfect age with many years ahead, Clive’s exuberant personality is shining through. He is a natural hunter who would benefit from a home where he can eventually spend time safely exploring outside as well as relaxing in the house. He can sometimes be a little over-enthusiastic with play and would be more suitable for an adult family/children 12yrs+. His past may be a mystery, but his future can be filled with love and stability.

Rehoming Animals Since 2005
At Woodlands Animal Sanctuary we understand that all our animals’ health and well-being is paramount. We ensure that all our cats and kittens receive the highest standards of care and medical treatment possible before being rehomed. This includes:
- Veterinary Checks
- Worming Treatment
- Microchipping
All of our cats and kittens leave Woodlands registered to the Sanctuary to ensure they can be re-united with their family. - Tests for Feline Aids and Leukemia where necessary
- Spayed/Neutered
All cats over 6 months old are spayed/neutered and kittens from 9 weeks to 6 months come with a money off voucher for Ribble vets and Parker and Crowther * - Vaccinations
All of our cats receive at least their first vaccination before leaving Woodlands. Any cat who has not yet received their second vaccination and/or neuter, can get a discounted rate at either Ribble Vets or any Parker and Crowther practise. *
*Proof of adoption from Woodlands Animal Sanctuary will be required when claiming the discount vouchers.
This care incurs costs of over £400 per cat to Woodlands Animal Sanctuary and to help us recoup some of these costs we charge a rehoming fee of £95 for a single cat and £180 for a pair.
Rehoming Rules
We won't home single kittens without another cat present. Rehoming a single kitte doesn't meet welfare standards as it will have no social interaction with other cats. This means that if you already have an adult you can have one kitten. If you don't have an adult cat, you can take an established adult cat or two kittens.
We ensure that no cat or kitten is released to its new home until 48 hours after its vaccination.
If there are other pets in the household i.e. dogs, we will normally recommend a kitten unless we have an adult cat who is used to living with dogs. Dogs are able to come to the Sanctuary to be introduced to the cat.
All existing cats in any household must be neutered.
All cats and kittens that leave Woodlands Animal Sanctuary must leave with the food and litter that they are currently using here, this can be purchased from our onsite shop.
